nice fish. obviously still some of the original sea run sockeye genes in some of the remaining kokes in W. lake.
with all the heavy tourist activity along the short spawning river upstream, the heavy bio oxygen load and pollutants load from all the new lakeside homes and the heavy summer skiboat/jetski engine pollution, these fish won't last much longer. kokanee food sources don't reproduce and grown in polluted water.
sockeye/kokanee are a pristine clean cold water fish only. ask Canada about their almost total dieoff of sockeye from logging/developement/heavy human impact on the sockeye spawning/developement lakes/small streams. a multi billion dollar industry gone forever.
