Fishing at Wallowa Lake is picking up. Started this morning at first light and had my limit (5 fish over 12") and off the lake by 8 am. Five fish included 19",19 1/2", 21", 22", and 23". Largest fish 4#2oz. and total of the five was 15#12oz. All picked up on a wedding ring with corn.

Very awesome!worthy12
Do you have any pics? Most of us here have a hard time reading and relating. Pictures help guys like me.
What was the water temp and how deep were you fishing?

Thanks for the report

Water temp 42 degrees in the middle of a snow storm. Fish were at 18-20 feet in 25-30 feet of water. Hope this picture works out. Pink ruler is 12" Smokey Bear ruler.

Nothing wrong with those fish. I bet with the clear water and shallow depths that you have to fish with some stealth. A small boat and and an electric motor would be adventitious. Are those fish particular to a flavor of corn?

"Fishing at Wallowa Lake is picking up."

A bit of an understatement. The rest of us dream of that size.

Well done!

Guess I best be planning a trip there in the future.

Usually use shoepeg white corn (available in Enterprise at the Safeway store). Things aren't as great as they were a couple of weeks ago, mainly because the lake is starting to turn, but did catch a 5#2oz koke and weighed a fish for a friend that went 6#5oz which is only 7oz off the state record of 6#12oz. Hooked up with a 20 inch fish today but that was the only koke. Lake has been recently stocked with rainbows and it's sometimes hard to keep them off. As a bonus, picked up a 22 inch Mack in 20 feet of water last Thursday.

I'm on my way now. I've never caught a mack. Were you trolling with wedding ring? Thanks for the input! Brad
