I was at the lake this weekend chasing lake trout. Got a few but nothing great. As we where moving to a new spot we hit a soft spot and the 4 wheeler went splash. We got it out with now issues. I got sent a picture of another one that went in.
This is the reason I hate ice fishing. Please be safe.
Nice catch Aaron, I have ice fished in the past and was never really comfortable on the crackling sound whenever you walk on it. Its one thing when a fellow walks out on the ice but to add additional weight with the different machines used will keep me from venturing out. For me its not convincingly strong enough for support. 101shock1101
Thanks Rodger, I was trying for some bigger fish but that was the biggest I could get. The ice was 16 to 18 inches thick almost every where, but We did find two places that we broke thought. If the weather is good next weekend I am going to get the boat out and fish the open water.
Bill, I think my heart stopped as I watched the water fly up as we went in. I sure am glad it went the way it did. I hear the second wheeler took some work to get it out.
How accessible is teh lake, are the roads drifted in or can we get around without much problems? will be bringing a sled up with us next week and also a wheeler to aid with getting around. talk with you soon.
The roads are good in the mornings but can turn in to a muddy mess if it starts to thaw. The ice had a little snow on it yesterday but I bet it melted off today. Ice cleats are a must.
