Last year when I started making my Koke spinners, I came up with one that not only worked on Kokes but has caught 4 other species in that lake for a total of 5 species on that one spinner. I don't know what that says about that lure if anything but I'm impressed as heck that it catches the attention of so many different types of fish. Do you have a lure that is likely to catch anything and everything in the lake?

HOW ABOUT A PICTURE OF YOUR CREATION.tongue2

I HAVE COUGHT RAINBOW, MACKINAW, GERMAN BROWNS, BASS AND KOKANEE ON 1 COLOR OF RMT ASASSIN LURE. I DON'T FISH ANY OTHER SPECIES.

ALSO, A FLORESENT ORANGE AND SILVER STEELE HAS WORKED ON EVERYTHING I FISHED FOR.

As a teacher of mine, (a real one) WHO WAS FOND OF FISHING, once said, you can catch any fish on any lure ant any given time. You just never know.

Well, jigs work pretty good on a variety of fish. The same jigs can be used on every type of pacific salmon. They also work on all the trout species as far as I know. They work on char, I've seen more than one mack succumb to the temptation of the jig. They work well in the ocean when used for bottom fish. I think that covers a fairly wide variety of species. The truth is that it has more to do with how you work a lure and where you present it than it does to do with the specific lure itself. Fish are simple creatures with very tiny brains, if you put it in front of them and make it look enticing enough, whamo!, you've got yourself a fish on.

Rooster Tail Spinner - Brown w/gold blade!

Catches about anything that eats minnows! I've taken trout, bass (both largemouth and smallmouth), crappie, perch, smaller muskies and even a catfish or two. I haven't tried them for kokes but you bet I will now! Thanks SuperD for jumpstarting my tired brain.

Obviously size does matter and the company obligizes by producing them from 1/16 oz to over an ounce so size your quary carefully. It's the combination of color and vibration that triggers the strike. This lure can be fished anywhere in the water column. I've found speed to be a factor also, the slower the better, just enough to spin the blade.

How about a pic Dave?

Rapalas, I've even caught Kokes on them. Green Hoochies. As was mentioned any fresh water species will take a jig and I've caught most of them on the hard water surface (ice).

Yep indeedy, the old DPS in TNT red does a mighty fine job. I've been told that the carbide-in-a-jar lure, in natuaral clear, works quite well also but perhaps with a little less sonic emission as an attractant. laugh hyst

A trolled worm harness will catch nearly every species of freshwater fish and probably anadramous fish as well. A drop shot rigged senko or curly tail grub will also yield a lot of different species.

If I were limited to just one lure I'd have to choose a Needlefish in the Firetiger color. Seems like it's always been my "go to" lure when nothing else is working. All species, anytime of the day.
