101goodpost101I've been fishing Merwin since last month almost every weekend, soooo, heres a few tips that have been working for me!
1. Think Pink! Beads in pink white, pink blue, pink chartreuse! Use a small blade on the front.
2. Pink Berkley Maggots are HOT !
3. Fish the South side from the Hideaway marina west towards the dam for a mile or so. Go in & out from the shore to the middle of the lake! Or just
follow the boats!
4. Ive had the best luck in the top 15 Ft. 50 - 60 ft. behind the boat & close to the surface if they are jumping or breaking the surface early in the morning. I've talked with people who say they are using 2- 3 oz, weights & fishing deeper but I dont know why!
5. I have the best luck with Small Dodgers in Brass/Chrome, Pink /Copper, Chartreuse/Pink, 50/50 Brass Chrome. Also Small Lake Trolls with 2 or 3 Brass blades. I dont like to use a lot of weight.
I use my DR's with a ball flasher set at 10 ft. clip the realse on a long clip 5ft. above that & pul it up with tension on the pole so the realease is about 1 ft. below the surface, and then HANG ON!
6. Dont forget the Rain Gear!
