We fish back home (MONT.) Canyon Ferry resv. lots of nice trout the question i have is locally made lure we use is called ROCK&ROLLER both colors hot red & chartreuse are deadly however I have tried them several times at the GORGE and have never had a bump both lakes are close in water temp & clarity canyon ferry is a little lower in elev. and through the course of the summer the fish hang in about the same water depths any ideas?

they are not accessible for photo however they are a spoon close in shape to a needlefish also made of lite metal probably 2in.long #6 treble hook lighting bolt decal on top side thanks.

Chartruese has done real well for me at the Gorge on Rainbows. Are you fishing them in known Rainbow territory?

have fished them on our go to rainbo flats and also have stacked to run higher water colum when koke fishing its one of those lures that you know produces and should do the same there just doesnt

I've fished 2 koke lakes that are about a mile apart...on one lake red works well and at the other they won't touch it.

Run them alongside the boat at your normal trolling speed (~1.0 - 1.5 mph) and watch their action. If they don't have erratic action, pull them up and add more bend to the spoon with your hands till you get the added effect. If your using a flasher/dodger with a short leader, try bending the flasher/dodger the same way.
Most Importantly, I assume you're using some kind of attractant scent and NOT SUNTAN LOTION!

onlychild, what is your most effective trout lure at FG? For me, 2" Lymans are trout magnets. Last year we hooked 30 in an hour & half with them.

a friend of mine owned osprey lures(GEORGE GATES) just sold it last year to Jared (RMT) he gives me blanks that i air brush i catch more trout on them for the simple fact that i paint them so i tend to fish them more we talked briefly about powell i have painted a shad pattern that is killer down there honestly cant recall 30 trout ever in 1 1/2 hours but have had 30-40 trout days and 80 stipper days
