Hi guys!
Well the Koke fishing in May was "VERY SLOW"!
Now into the 2nd week of June and the Kokes are hitting like Mad!!!
Got my limit of 8 still fishing last night, anchored in 46 ft. of water and caught all 8 between 32 and 35 ft. down and in 2 1/2 hours after 10 PM.
All caught on a kernel of shoe-peg corn and couple of maggots (Spikes) on #10 Owner light wire hook.
Nice size fish between 14 and 16 inches, very fat and lively!
Got a new small smoker and just now put 12 Koke fillets in a honey and rum brine. Will let sit overnight and smoke them tomorrow with a 50-50 mix of apple and hickory wood. Lots of orchards here and I get all the apple wood I need for free.
Looking though for some wild black cherry wood to smoke some pork ribs.
If you have knowledge of such? -> Please let me know!
Happy Fishing thumbsup
Best regards,
SeaDog
