If you'r familiar with it, what is the smallest boat you would take through Deception Pass? (Washington State)

Always depends on the weather. Not only the length but how the boat is built is important. I Would say that a general rule of thumb, would be something around a 21-24 Ft with good freeboard at the smallest. I'm sure someone has been out there in a little runabout in perfect conditions some time, but not me, like never, ever!

I would never be out there, except in great weather anyway!

It is a beautiful place to go in the right conditions.

Friday the 15 th was my 2nd time thru there in my 16 ft flat bottom. Both times I had a incoming tide (both ways) and no wind. Thrilling but not dangerous due to conditions. Just have to avoid the whirlpools. Wear your life jacket.

You had to have fun going through there. I would like to do it myself, but i moved a long ways away from the sound, so It is a big trip to do that now. Actually a little expensive at this point. Hworthy12ave Fun, and be safe!
