Nice reading what went on last weeek, or didn't. No Fish? Or is everone out catching Salmon? I was in Alaska with my Wife. We were halibut fishing out of a lodge on the Wrangle Narrows. Never been fishing on the salt. We went to Alaska to fish for Salmon, but were told it was slow in that part of the state this year. We were told to try our hand at halibut.
We caught 1 halibut tat day(by my wife) and I could not get my wife (Anne) to fish for anything else the rest of the week.
We ended the week with 13 halibut between the 2 of us. total weight of 150 lbs. of filets. That does not count the one that broke my 100 lb line, or the fish Anne had on for an hour that towed our 18 ft boat up current at .5 mph for 1/2 hour. We finally had enough as we could not get it off of the vicinity of bottom. 85-90 ft deep. Her fish, she cut the line.
