Just returned from our annual Stampede trip. Lake is 30 feet lower than last May and is down 90' overall. Boat launch is well out of the water and everyone is shore launching. I would recommend 4 wheel drive if launching anything substantial. I saw a few big boats, so guys are able to put in their 20' boats. The island is now a peninsula. We only fished a couple of days due to wind, rain, and snow. Everything we caught were fat healthy 15-16 inchers. A friend with us fished Donner and his fish were alot smaller.

Thanks for the update. Stampede is usually our go-to place, but if it's that low, we'll probably pass this season. I'm hoping the snow melt from elsewhere will make it better, but somehow I don't think that's likely. Donner's smaller fish has been historically correct, at least for me. Same goes for Union Valley.
