Good for you ,STLHDR wish I could have been there, just dodging too many curve balls right now to venture that far
at this time. Tight lines Kokapaw out.

May venture out to Alder Lake soon, have to get some reliable reports first though and you are welcome to tag along but be warned I'll out you to work on the boat... LOL

101hearyeYou won't believe it. I'm literally shaking the cob webs out of the boat tomorrow after having moved into a new house last year and having a fun, but no break from the children summer vacation this month. If you see me floating by with a huge grin on my face and no kids in the boat say "Hi". -Mack

Had a new experience at the lake today. Seagulls dive bombed a nice koke as I was reeling it in. I didn't mind losing the fish, but the crafty birds snapped the line and made off with a new Vance's dodger and lure. The bite was good early then tapered off.

Had one of those stupid birds grab a Rapala once got a mouth full of treble hooks he was a hand full to get unhooked as you might imagine.

Melanie and I had an osprey grab a koke from us while reeling in at Summit Lake a couple of years ago, wasn't far behind the canoe, either. fortunately the spoon we were using didn't stick the bird, just got away with the fish. Worth the fish for the visual. Bob R

Fished merwin on 8-4. Ended up with 15. We only had one double all day. One here one there.very nice fish only one 12 incher. 55 to 60ft on the DR. Hoochies and arrow flash dodgers.

Fished 8/10 a good bite early. Ended up with 17 all of the fish were caught between spleyia and woodland park. 55 to 60 ft in the am.in the afternoon 63 to 65 did best. Dodgers and hoochies with tuna soaked corn.

Headed to Yale Saturday morning but to much wind for the wife, so headed to Merwin. Merwin was flat as a table when we got there. Motored out of the ramp and dropped the riggers down. Trolled for an hour and only one bump! Whats up? Dropped the riggers down another 10 feet and 15 minutes later had the mother of all hits, popped it off the clip and off to the races it went, definitely not a kokanee. 10 minutes later in the net it went. 5#4oz. trout!! Beauty so down the riggers went and we stayed in the area hoping for some kokes but wouldn't you know it if another one of those big yahoos didn't hit the same rod again. My wife brings up both long lines and before she could get the other downrigger rod in it starts shaking. She pops it off and NO WAY!! A double on big uns! Biggest was 7#7oz.....Was hoping for a pile of kokanee but wind got us off lake at noon but a good day I guess.

Great report & Nice Haul!!!
The only fish besides Kokes I have caught there were pikeminnows.... Nary a trout bit anything....

My wife and I took our kayak out on Friday 9/18/15, for a little exercise, while I tested out my new rod holder setup. We launched from Cresap Bay, eventually made our way to Speelyai Bay, and then circled back keeping ourselves roughly 200 yards off the South Shore while we headed back to Cresap. I managed to catch 2 pike minnows, and a nice Kokanee.

I don't have a downrigger, so I used a 3 oz weight dropping my flashers and wedding ring spinner back 110 feet tipped with plain white shoepeg corn.
