Gorge kokes 8/17... Another great day !!

That is my lucky fishing hat !! I have been a long suffering Vikings fan since the 70s. Thanks for all the washed up players....long well, farve, Jennings !!! I think that was my last Gorge trip for this year. I live in Jackson, and I would rather drive the 4 hours to fish for Kokes that fish...

    8-18 Gorge Trip

Nice job on the big red. 11 boated is a good day. I talked to guys at the cleaning station that struggled on Saturday, with only a few fish boated. Sometimes you have to try different stuff !

Gorge kokes 8/17... Another great day !!

I have fished Flaming Gorge twice in the last 3 weeks and had some great fishing. The fishing was not as fast as earlier in the year, but we caught some nice fish. The hot lure was a pink apex behind a chrome/brass Jensen dodger off lead core. I don't like fishing with lead core but this setup...

    5/10-5/12 The Gorge is S-L-O-Dubya!

It's funny how a fishing report turns into a political discussion. There are plenty of sites where you can talk about the constitution, and it's laws. I don't think a Kokanee fishing forum is the place. I for one would like to see some fishing talk, techniques, spots, pics, etc. this happens all...

    Conventional or DSI FF???

I think having GPS on your fishfinder is more important than DSI. Having the ability to mark spots and backtrack on your trail to catch fish is more useful than seeing trees on the bottom. I don't know how we ever fished without GPS. !!! I have a navionics chip which is O.K. For most lakes. It...

    Whats your boat name?

My Crestliner is called FuhgetaBOATit since I'm from New Jersey. My wife came up with the name and we thought it was unique and clever but we have seen two other boats with the same name. Maybe its time to change, I could use a new wife !!!

    new equipment report

Although this doesn't really apply to koke fishing, I have another product I am really impressed with. It is the wave spin spinning real. It has a unique spool that prevents line loop tangles. It really works. I fished the Green river yesterday and I casted hundreds of times without one tangle...

    new equipment report

Great thread ! The navionics maps are good but the contours are not accurate on any lake. It's still a good purchase. I was going to buy the ego slider net this winter, but I will research it a little more now. I also have 2 Vance's rods and I love 'em. This is a good time of the year to...

    Gorge 8/6 - 8/8

We fished on Saturday at breeze hill with a million other boats. We limited out with 3 guys but it took some work. Our best lure was a pink apex off the lead core until somebody cut us off trolling east /west while everyone else is trolling north/south. We caught the rest off of Pro-Troll 4...

    Lake trout tips...

I have a tip...dont even waste your time. Just go koke fishing, they fight better, taste great, are easy to catch, and there's not 4 hours of nothing between fish. I caught an 18 here on Jackson lake last week and it was in the net in less than a minute from 65 feet... Lame !! If that was an 18...

    Fantastic gorge week 7/22-7/27

You guys suck!!! It's killing me all these reports of great koke fishing. It's great when a trip meets or exceeds expectations. It doesn't happen often...great report.

    caught a rainbow

We went south to look for some more kokes and on the way back to buckboard we hit a couple of coves on the east side of the lake. One of the coves was shallow with weeds...no bass. The other was deeper with a lot of rocks...that's where I caught them. I was throwing a small brown tube, bouncing...

    caught a rainbow

It was good to meet you too Smokepoles. When ever I fish the Gorge, I wear my " colors " like I'm a gang member !! You did way better than I did. I had one of those everybody else is catching fish but me days. I wound up with only 5 kokes landed, only put 2 in the box ( 3 dinks) lost another 5...
