    American Shad are in

I have been down to Clackamette park a couple of times and put on a clinic. I took a shad virgin friend out after work and we spanked them. Put in at Clackamette boat launch around 6pm. and anchored just up from the mouth of the Clack after marking a bunch of fish at 21ft. Set the anchor...

Fished Saturday early down by the dam. First flat line setback, fish on! Nice trout that came off at the boat. Trolled around for another two hours with many short strikes and no hookups. Moved back to above Speelyai and found a good bite and limited out in about 90 minutes. The fish were...

Thanks for the report. I hear you on the good cover thing on the boat. I bought a 18ft. Hewes Craft 180 searunner with a full canvas top and a heater too. beats the heck out of my 14ft. smokercraft alaskan this time of year. Peace, Tom

I made it to the lake around 6:40am on Saturday and found 8 rigs in the lot. Went down to the dam and put out a uv sling blade and a clear and pink hoochie tipped with corn and a bit of worm. Flatlined at 100ft. hit the mark on the counter and hooked up. Nice 13"er. The other rig was a ford...

    Help

This time of year the fish are in the top 10' to 15' of water. I like to flat line a dodger and a pink hoochie tipped with shoepeg and a dodger with a wedding ring on the other with a gulp maggott. I troll like a drunkin sailor. (very easy for me!! ) I start with one rod setback at...

    1-7-12 Merwin limit!

The two on top were 12 1/2" and the middle two were 13 1/2". the last one was 10". I would have released that one, but the regs say first 5 fish. I did not weigh them but they all put up a great fight. Baked fresh kokanee for dinner in January is a special treat!

It was a sweet day at the lake. One rig in the parking lot and no wind on the water. Started with a uv slingblade and a pink hoochie with corn flatlined at 100ft. My other rig was a old school ford fender with a green wedding ring at 75ft. Marked some schools and found some willing...
