27 Jul started 1730-2000. Well fished American last night launched at Russell landing and got one heck of a deep splinter in my finger at the boat launch pulled it out and bleeding off to the fishing grounds I went. I ran all the way across to the far northeast side past the island and dropped the gear and trolling along and looked up and my middle window was cracked I said how in the heck did that happen, well bottom line from me not paying attention from driving the boat to putting out two sets of gear. I think I must have let it slam open or slammed closed or slammed the cooler. I said can it get any better, then bam fish on nice sized koke. Put it in the cooler and dropped gear back down, then honestly it was dry for a while the about 1915 the clock really turned on caught the other four fish in about 30 minutes done on the way home. Got some new Vance’s gear in the mail and had to try it out chartreuse speckled dodger and a glow hoochie modified with some glow beads and a blade it was hot, the other one I fished last night was a glow squid with glow beads was just as hot. Gear was tipped with Berkley’s maggots (pink) and DNA scent and hit with a UV light before sending them down to the depths. Surface temp was 70.4 and the depth I was running was 30-40 feet down on the riggers I landed 3 at 40 and 2 at 36. I did lose one fish early. Attached are the photos off the gear I used and a window. I forgot to take a photo of the fish they were all nice sized fish between 13-14 inches with one at almost 15.
