Launched at about 8:30 A/M and caught the first fish just before 9:00. Had a limit in the boat by 10:30. Green was hot early and Pink started picking up later in the morning. 10-30-11-1.jpg

Well you certainly out fished me today. I was at Clear and only unhooked one in the boat. Of course there were those that I would have if they had got in the boat. None were worth taking home.

Next year Captain Matt and Kokanee Ken are going to come over from eastern Washington and teach you boys how to catch Kokanee real Kokanee, we on this side of the mountain measure Kokanee in pounds not inches like you boys just look for a 19 ft Starcraft with a big arrow on the side then watch the fish as they jump on our lines better practice up you'll need it

Ya right, good luck with that. Toni has fished kokanee for two seasons, and I bet she could out fish you on our turf nananana

And pic's or it did not happen.

Oh, brother. I'll say one thing for you, King......no one will ever accuse you of modesty.

Come on over, can't wait to meet you guys. I need all the help you can provide to put fish in the boat. Look forward to meeting Captain Matt and Kokanee Ken, Kingchinook will you be joining them?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Toni, you have been whooping me on a regular basis so I guess it's kind of nice to out fish you just once.

And Kid I agree with you; Kingchinook and the folks from the other side of the mountain are going to have to contend with Toni if they are brave enough to make it over to our stomping grounds.

Have you ever caught a Kokanee averaging 19 to 22 inches all day long and on Roosevelt we catch kokes up to 6 pounds that might be a whole limit But I bet a limit doesn't even weigh that on american and Kingchinook is Captain Matt

Congrats on catching fish of that caliber, you have some photo's to show?

I guess I don't get the point.

We know that fish grow bigger east of the mountain and in Oregon for that matter.
Now I would like to see one of the east side guys catch "Kokanee averaging 19 to 22 inches all day long" from American all day long.
I go to American because the fish are bigger than the fish at Clear which is closer to my home. I bet that is why Kokanee_slayer does the same?

You are right Toni, I fish American for the same reason. This is good - got a little friendly rivalry and trash talking going with the folks on the other side of the mountain. I think a fishing derby would be a lot of fun.

Kingchinook, I've always wanted to fish Roosevelt but have never taken the time to make the drive. I think I'm going to have to put that on my list of thing to do this upcoming summer. Post some pics of those monsters you caught when you get a chance.

Showing anyone photos to guys on the westside is sin we like our peace over on the eastside we get enough coasties over on the good side posting pics would be like baiting something we don't want to catch get what I'm getting at trollNFisher and if you look at state record it's from Roosevelt and many lakes over here have big fish but don't get pressured hence no pics our mention of other lakes but we would love a derby over there at American

Kokanee slayer the summer is the worst time for koks is summer they are scattered and deep 70 to 130 feet deep winter from December thru February this is when they seam to stick together and are on top or thirty feet down deepest and you also catch mixed in are huge bows that average 3 to 12 pounds with bigger bows possible and some landlocked chinook usually smaller than the koks and our Kokanee in Roosevelt are now

Planted coho strain but sockeye strain is still prevalent due to the fact both strains have plenty of rivers and creeks to spawn in which makes us have an even better fishery due to the wild fish due get bigger and are stronger than the planted ones so if you want to fish Roosevelt come on the winter and be ready to run long distances to find schools it's big water so small boats sometime get sunk it turns into an ocean so be careful if it looks like it could get nasty it will and 8 to 10 pd test line is normal always fluorocarbon and p-line gets really brittle when in single digits little help just wanted to help out a little if any of you wants to try Roosevelt but when you find a school they are usually huge good luck coulee Playland in electric city is the Bait shop and great tackle also big wallys in coulee city great tackle store bigger but better info at coulee Playland also you want to stay at Sun Banks resort in electric city cabins in fall thru spring are 50 dollars a night and sleep six people that's all hope it helps
