It's that time of year when the group out of Northern California makes their way into Gorge territory. I received an invite on one boat, took advantage and yesterday was a good day to wet a few lines. We fished out of the Buckboard area as others were scattered from Buckboard to Middle Marsh. Radio chatter had it that the day was slow but still productive. Not many large kokes were caught Wednesday. Our boat netted a 4.6lber and 2
3 1/2lb class kokes. We put about 30 kokes to the boat, lost several on the reel. Their was no rhyme or reason about consistency of bite. Changing up a lure would yield a catch but immediately afterwards no catch until change up happens again. Purple, light pink, double glow pink, white hoochies, red apex no consistency. Dodgers mainly used were of 4.5 hyper plaid style which seem to attrack better than larger dodger. A thanks to Fishnmike & his dad for a great day and great company to share stories with. It was great seeing the others as we passed by on the water. I will miss the potluck as we have had in the past and all of the BS stories. At 2pm we were run off of the lake as Thor was seen slinging a few lightning bolts in the distance. Oh yes, I might add, this is the 2nd year that SuperD has missed out on the migration. It's time for a Gorge trip.
