Hit the Lucerne boat ramp around 7AM and it was pretty cold for the light jacket I had. I fished lake trout in the morning and only got a few bites. I switch to kokes around 1:00 and got five in short order. I was fishing the Anvil area. Pink and white at 30 to 40 feet was working best.

The size of fish seemed to be a bit smaller this week.

I think that we all noticed a trend toward smaller fish in general last year and maybe headed that direction again this year. Maybe the breeding gene pool has been over taxed? Have seen this happen at other lakes. The fix that seems to work is to introduce some new gene diversity.

I think it was the school I was in. My neighbor showed me a pic of a 4lber he got earlier this week. I would love to get in to a few of them.

Aaron, when I there last week fishing Anvil at first it was only finding sporadic numbers and then there was the mother-lode school. Before we knew it we had 3 within a matter of a couple of minutes.
