With all the reports coming in about cold temps, I cant help but wonder what one does when they MUST fish any how. It is my understanding that Kokanee as well as any fish get "lethargic" when temps are down. Also, while temps are down in the lake, it is stated that Kokes in general will stay in the water column closest to the top as it is "warmer". I have but a few questions:
1. Instead of 10"-18" leaders should one use longer leaders to slow the action of the lure?
2. Should one fish lower columns as usually more stable ambient temps are lower in water. The first to freeze over is the top, right? I understand that heat rises and some of the physics that follow.
What are the techniques that some of you practice when temps are cold? (under 50 deg.)
