Which way do I go for my "tipping" bait...OR carry both and let them tell me what they want?

Lakes to fish: American....Meridian...Angle..Just in case the different lake's fish have different tastes.

Regarding the corn...do most marinate their secret scent in or put it on when the corn goes on the hook?
Sorry for the rookie questions...but that's what I am.

You are going to get varied answers. I carry 4 different containers (small) of corn. 3 Different maggots and sometimes real maggots.

from what I hear/read most people marinate their corn/scent combos in small containers once removed from the can

I like to be a rebel and use non-shoepeg corn with no scents/colors, I'm sure there are others out there that do this but I'm the only one I know of

history shows that the use of scents/dyes combined with shoepeg corn will produce better results but I've always fished this way and as long as I continue to have good results I'll stick with it, just experiment and stick with whatever ends up working for you

Thanks...I knew I was going to get varied reports...
I should have asked...what do you veterens of the koke world find is more effective on the lakes listed above? I have been told that lakes, like the rivers I'm used to fishing, can vary in effective baits, lures, and scents.

In my opinion of all the variables in kokanee fishing (bait, scent, speed, depth, lure color, lure type/action, lure size, etc.) the bait choice may be the less important. I typically fish a single bait (usually the "natural" color gulp maggots). On a tough bite I often am changing my gear frequently - yesterday is an example.

At the end of the morning on my home lake I had fished 6 different dodgers, 12 different lure combos, several scents applied directly to the lure, flat lines, lead lines, and off the down rigged (from 5 to 65 feet). All the combinations had the same bait. I do experiment with various baits at times but you will find your fishing a little less complicated by doing your experimenting with the gear.
