With all the new styles and sizes of Dodgers, any recommended length that works particularly well? I've seen them from 3 1/2" to 6". Curious as to if size really matters when it comes to Dodgers. If so, does depth and time of year make a difference as to size? Looking at picking up some more - just not sure what size.

The small (side kicks Sep's style) or Tsunami size work really well in early season in shallow depth. My sling blade style dodgers are about equally split between the 4" and 5.5".

one thing you can do is find a lake site on this forum and look at all the back post and time of year at what people were doing, you will learn a lot. speed makes a difference to what kind of dodger. If I have different dodgers on I keep changing my speed. I use iTroll: throttle controller for that.
sling blade style dodgers 5.5 work best where I fish and macks Double D Dodger 4.4" silver. I think every one has something they like best the bad thing about fishing for kokes is you spend more money than you should. for lures.

True that on the spending part! I have gone through a lot of the old posts and they mention color and make of dodger - just very little is mentioned on the length or size of the dodger. Curious if anyone finds much difference on using a 4" versus 4.5" or even a 5". Would love to own a whole tackle box full like some, just not in the budget right now.....

Good to know. Most of what I have are on the smaller side so going to try the 5.5 and see how they work. Thanks for the feed back. Probably more of excuse to get more gear, but oh well....

i have started using the bigger 5.5 blades and seem to have had pretty good luck. but i have more 4" than any thing else. that being said you have to give them what they want .
