Down Imaging

I am considering upgrading the fish finder to a unit that has down imaging. Do any of you have down imaging? And if so, what do you think of the technology. Is it worth having and if you were to buy another FF would include that feature?

JMO, it won't be a bonus Kokanee feature and its value would depend on what other kind of fishing you do that involves fishing structure.

I am having the same delemma on upgrading. I definately will pick up down imaging but am wondering the merits of side imaging. I think side imaging might pick up schools of kokes off the side of the boat that we might pass by otherwise. It could be a good seach tool. Opinions please because of the 3-5 hundred dollar price difference.

I have a hummin bird 898. It has both side and down imaging. I like the down for bass and stuff on the bottom that hold close to cover. Other than that its just kinda of a neat thing. Would I buy it again ? no, its really not worth much for me.
Side imaging is nice and it will tell you when fish are out to your side and has put me on some Kokes That were on the side image. The main thing for me in a fish finder is :
1 color
2 larger screen
3 Gps
These have helped me more than anything else on a fish finder.
