downrigger humming

I just moved my downrigger to my new boat, now it sings like a bird. a loud humming that is very annoying and I am sure don't help the fish catching. Has anyone had this problem and how can I fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Cable hum is generally a function of depth and speed. At deep depths and high speeds, all steel cable downriggers will sing. Swapping the steel cable out for braided downrigger line is the only complete fix.
