I can relate to some of the comments. It seems like one never has enough gear. I'm going to concentrate more on technique next year more than assuming more gear is what is required.

That plan sounds great until the first good fishing report comes in and you don't have the stuff the guy used in his report. laugh hyst laugh hyst

Buying ahead

I have been out of control buying everything that I will need for the next 5 years or more. I am trying to prepair for what ifs. Don't want to worry about losing my job, but If I do, I will be, gonefishing, and prepaired for it!thumbsupthumbsup

More time to fish

I hear ya! I plan on fishing more this year, but don't want it to be a full time occupation. At least not to soon.

Despite what you see in the news, plan on a hard 2 years between 2010 & 1/2 to mid 2012. I work for a large company connected to very large banks. The prognosis is not good for our short term future.

Good thing I'm a country boy who knows how to spend his spare time on the lake. BUY FISHING GEAR / BE PREPARED

Hoping for the best, preparing for what ever. fencing

gonefishing, we'll be on Ririe ice fishing for Kokes before you know it! A whole nother group of koke tackle! thumbsup

MMM; You must live in the I.F. Area or not to far away. I didn't fish Ririe this summer and later heard that the fish were bigger this year. (15 min from my house). Hope you land some of those this weekend.

I was at the Sportsman warehouse today picking up some summer odds and ends and was looking at the ice fishing tents and so on. HMMMM

Not sure I want to go down that road as I have seen pictures of some mighty cold fishermen coming of that reservoir in the winter. (WIND)

Hope you had fun Sunday up there.

gonefishing, I also went to Sportsman's Warehouse and picked up some odds & ends. I spent the day today fixing hooks on some of the lures while watching football. I also come to realize after the fishing season, I had a bigger mess than I thought within my tackle system. I think it will get straighten out in 2 more days of football games. But, now I have all winter. I'm thinking about doing a little ice fishing now. :D:D:D

Tackel Box?

Bduck, Thanks for reminding me. What a mess I have from last year. Guess I should do the same, bring everything into the house, warm it up, and straighten it out. I am now using 3 tackle boxes. 1 large 2 small.

I am thinking I should be doing something else becuase they are a pain to dig out when I want to make changes to gear. Thinking about looking for something that can be hung on the sides of the boat. Saw one boat with a set up for their various planner boards on the back of the boat. Think I'll do that for sure.

What I need is a bigger boat, but being very conservative for now. Should have done that when I purchased the one I have now!
