Flaming Gorge in September?

Hello,

I'm new here so I hope this is the right place for this. My wife and I just sold our boat and have a new one on order but it won't be done until November. We're thinking about gong to FG the week after Labor day. 2 questions...1-Is the Koke fishing still OK that late? 2-If yes, can anybody recommend a guide? Thanks!

Welcome aboard Mark and Welcome to the Kokanee family here. To answer a few of your questions start with going to the Flaming gorge board just a few down from this board here at KFF. Lots of good info there to read and digest.

A good Guide, Lots to choose from, I would start with whichever one could get you out with that short of notice. The koke fishing over there is pretty good right now and drawing to an end for the spawn. The koke fishing closes on Sept 10th for the Gorge. So I would start calling whichever ones you can get ahold of and see which one can get you out.

Also lots to see on and around the lake. Take a drive down to the South end of the lake and see the sites. Go check out the Dam and drive up to teh scenic lookouts around the area also.
