What is the general size of the Kokanee you guys catch? Had a guy break the state of Conn record that was 35 years old at 2.88# old record was 2.75. Grease trap with a squid and a piece of corn on the hook, BW

I think you'll find that general size caught varies from lake to lake and year to year. One lake I fish, the average size koke is about 6 to 8 inches. Of course, I don't fish this lake for the kokanee and only catch them on occasion. The lake I have fished most for kokanee usually produces koke's between 9 and 11 inches, but have seen years where they reached well over 14. One of my favorite lakes has produced koke's for me that are typically 14 to 17 inches with some that reach up into the low 20's. This is just three of the lakes that I fish that have koke's in them, and all of these lakes are within a fairly short distance of each other. In my case, all of these sizes are spring time fish and these fish will reach a greater size before most fishermen try for them. And in this short list I haven't even considered our new state record that is well over 9lbs. So hopefully you can see why general size of people's catch is far too vague of an inquiry. If you want to know largest, that would be easier to answer.
