Hi there,
I'm new to the forum, and new to kokanee fishing. Have been spending the past few weeks up at Keechelus doing biological research - was talking to some koke fishermen - got real envious and somehow caught the bug without even having a rod in my hand. I want to give it a try - and I have lots of questions! Already went out and spent a bit over $50 on new gear (thats the number I told my wife anyway, so I'm sticking with it).

Got a new trolling motor too (different credit card, shh) - many questions on that install coming. Put on an old downrigger, many questions on that one too coming up...

Looking forward to the chats!

Welcome aboard mjbosko...looking forward to reading your posts and reports. Is Keechelus the lake on the north or south side of 90 and did you happen to see the size of the kokes they were catching there?

Didn't see the size, they all kept them locked in the cooler... is it that secretive? heh. All boats that I talked to said they were small, only some up to 12" - and that it was only a morning bite, then dead. I spoke with several from different boats over the week, same story. This is Lake Keechelus - S side of 90, visible for a couple miles of highway.

Have they fixed up the ramp there?? I lived in North Bend for years but that was before I caught the kokanee bug so never fished it. Just noticed there wasn't a great ramp to launch and later in the year (June) it was completely high and dry. I had heard rumors they were going to make some upgrades.

The water is up to the road at this point, so haven't seen it at low water yet. Its been a long while since I've been at the launch myself so until it comes down, I'm not sure. Will let you know when I find out though.

And sure, I'll post a boat pic too as part of my sig - once I get that picture. :)

Thanks fellers.

Good to meet you. I live nowhere near Ellensburg, but do have friends from up there. Beautiful place! Looks the most like the valley I live in that I have ever seen. If I had to move to Washington, that would be the place.
