I got an opportunity to go to the I Cast show in Las Vegas last week. I Cast is where all the tackle manufacturers show off their newest and best stuff. It was an great experience, I got to see every Bass pro and others in person. Anyway I have to give some props to the guys at Vances Tackle/Rainbow plastics. Brian Eck and his dad (Brian is the current WY state record kokanee holder ) were the best tackle guys I talked to at the show. They were excited about their products, and they were excited about talking Koke fishing. I bring up this point because in many of the other booths I went to the guys had no idea about their tackle. At the Pro-Troll booth there was Dick Pool, who owns the company. I told Dick how I love their stuff and use it all the time. He had a new flasher there and I asked him about what trolling speeds it would work at. He hesitated and said all speeds. Then I asked him about lures behind it. Once again, he hesitated and said any lure. He had no idea about this product. I'm not even sure he was a fisherman. I got similar responces from the guys at Rapala, Pure fishing..which is Berkely, Penn, Shakespeare, Etc, Brads, Shimano,. The best big guys there was Lowrance. They had an awesome booth and I spent 45 minutes with them learning about their structure scan fishfinders. They had an answer and a simulation for everything I could throw at them. Humminbird was not there. All in all there was nothing new that was "gotta have it ". I did wear my KFF tee shirt so we were represented !! But once again I was impressed with Vances stuff, they are great guys over there and they make quality tackle. On a side note, every piece of fishing tackle you buy is made in China or Japan....everything !!

I agree, I met Vance at the Portland Sportsmen show. He was great to talk to, very knowledgeable about his products. I bought one of his rods and I love it. Good report!
