So last fall I noticed a soft spot in my boat so this off season I thought I would replace it, instead of carpet I thought I would use a roll in floor covering. I also did some upholstery work, I finished it up yesterday and boy did it stiffen up the boat. See pictures on page 2

Yea it was a lot of work, at first I thought I would just run down and get a new boat, but boy after seeing the sticker price I thought it would be best to fix what I have.

The carpet sure was hiding a lot of dry rot and gave me a bit of a overwhelmed feeling but once I got the floor out and found the stringers to be in great condition I started to feel I lot better about things.

I sure am happy to have a carpet free boat.

Buy something that is right for you. unless something goes really bad repairs are a lot cheeper than replacement

I am wanting to add some new Guide-on bunks to my boat trailer and move the short ones up to the front of the trailer. Anyone ever change these or add , would love to see some of your ideas.

I have found if you leave about 2 ft. of your bunks out of the water the guide on bunks are not really necessary.

My old boat was really hard to load straight so I put a second set of bunks on the outside of the first set and it made it load straight every time. it was not hard to do at all. They started at the same place as the original but were only about half as long.

Dan, I have re carpeted all of my bunks, and replaced two that were rotted. I made them just a little longer and that helped greatly.
