Arrived at buckboard around 10 an on 6-4 and headed north from the marina.I was skunked but my wife managed to bring in 2 mac pups around 20" and a 17" rainbow. We forgot the downriggers so we were using a 3 ounce weight with 6' of leader trolling around 2 mph. Everything she caught was on a double glow hoochie with a pink and silver dodger. I tried a lot of different combinations with no success. On Sunday my wife managed on more laker but it spit the hook out about 5 ft. from the boat. I finally got my first koke on a glow hoochie with a spinner trailed behind a pink uv dodger with 6 ft. leader and a 1 ounce weight at 2 mph. That set up eventually got me 2 more kokes that measured 19". All the kokes were caught by the submerged island just south of the marina. I was glad to see that they are now checking for mussels at the entrance to the boat ramps. We seen them at both buckboard and Holmes crossing. We used blueback79's recipe for smoking the fish and I must say it came out perfect. I haven't found that killer recipe for a salmon spread but i'm still working on it.
