Made my reservation for a floating cabin in Lucerne Marina for my dates in July. Raynette is pretty distraught over what the Forest Service is doing at Lucerne this Summer. They concession 16 campgrounds, most of which lose money but Lucerne makes enough to carry the losers. Not going to happen this Summer. She can't hire enough help to be useful for those that do stay there this Summer. The good news is the finished product is going to be fabulous. More power sites, 2 more shower / restroom buildings, new AC paving throughout, more trees and the dreaded barrier curbs will be gone. Sounded like it will be a full blown resort when they are done.

Propnut, Raynette also said the improvements were from a $3 million grant of Obama stimulus money. But to your credit, I bet the user fees still go up!!!

Last I heard, The Lucerne marina is for sale. You should buy it!

I heard a figure of 5 million bucks. I will check with my source and confirm the price and such. I have seen these units. They are on the front of the private docks right as you come down from the parking lot. During the week its nice and quiet. Little busy on the weekends with the folks that keep their boats there. My Boss keeps his boat there. lots of good parties on the weekends for sure.

Well I stand corrected then,,,,,,,,, I don't agree with using stimulus money for this,but that just me. The money for these type of improvements should come user fees and the FS budget. Any economic benefit will be short lived at best.
