I started fishing earlier than I had planned. How many times have you heard that? I couldn’t sleep so I went to Clear Lake and started fishing at 6:15am. It took me a half an hour to find the kokanee on the south side of the lake somewhere in the middle. Then the bite was on but I probably lost as many as I got. I prayed that they wouldn’t be hooked to bad because I forgot the pliers on my desk. Got three in the box and then they were gone. So I trolled around looking for them. I was at the lake 2.25 hours before filling my limit. All fish were 10-11 inches. I did have one that hit the lure which came off the clip and straight up into the air and the hook came out. I think it was a 12 incher.
The weather was overcast and a few times I thought it was going to clear up but it didn’t. The water was warm to the touch. I caught all fish at 25-28 feet of cable in water from 60 to 90 feet deep. Wannafish A Lure Bloody Mary caught most of the fish below a watermelon colored Sep’s dodger with Rainbow coming in second with 2 sling blade dodger’s, green and yellow. 50/50 didn’t do anything today. Shoepeg corn and Berkeley maggots were my bait.
Now deep fried Kokanee and sweet potato fries are for dinner.
