Ran across a screamin' deal on a Humminbird 597ci unit ($329 delivered) and just ordered one. I had been considering the 581i at the same price, and the 597 was a no brainer when it popped up.

Now I'll be looking to get a map chip for it. I was thinking the Navionics Hotmaps Premium west. How is that for the Gorge and Strawberry?

Any other options I should consider?

Definitely see whats covered.I had money set aside to get a map chip for my area lakes(Western NC) for my Eagle and couldn't find any of my waters covered. Of course most of the lakes I hit are 1100 acres or less.101chromefish101

Totally pleased with mine for the Gorge & Strawberry. When targeting Macs, I set the contour intervals to 40' as opposed to the preset 20'. I just like to see less clutter during split screen operation. You'll be impressed with all the different lakes/reservoirs they have mapped.
