Welcome to the Kokanee Fishing Forum!!
I just returned home from the Oregon Kokanee Power Derby at GP.! Over 80 entries made up 35 teams that took part for a great day on SAT. Check out the camp just befor the GP dam! Very nice with water & electric at each site.
To answer your question about the lake, I did best using Shasta Sling Blades in Pink & Orange with the Crystal Basin Hoochie Thing in Pink Spot & White Shad trolling about 1.5 mph in front of the dam. The fish were 20 to 40+ feet deep, watch out for the trout in shollow water above the Kokane.Early morning was hot on the left side & afternoonon the right side facing the dam. The second spot was in front of the Island going toward the floating Rest Rooms.
This was my first trip to GP & I plan on going again ASAP!
