Now the question. These where all caught in about 30 minutes. No bites till 7 am, hit like crazy till about 7:30, then zero, nada, zilch. Millions of fish on the finder, solid black from 12-50 feet. Not one more bite. Tried everything short of a quarter stick. Anyone have this happen and what did you do? I suppose they just shut off, but this is the 2nd time I fished this lake & yesterday was the same, I sat till 3:00 PM, nothing. Other lakes, I'm always able to scrounge up a bite or 2 here and there, but not here. Ideas or just go home in time for breakfast?signfishin

Are you dead sticking or still jigging? Remember that kokes are territorial in nature and will attack out of anger rather than for food. Try keeping the action going just to piss them off and maybe this will bring you more bites???

I've never ice fished but when the bite shuts off trolling or jigging in the summer alot of times all it takes is a lure color change to get things going again. Also, try a differnt scent, corn color, jigging action, and depth. One thing for sure is they have certain feeding times where the bite is consistant...

Well, yesterday, there was near 40 people, and they (fish) where more aggressive, but they still quit about 10, for everyone. Today, me & one other fellow, out of about 12, where the only ones catching regular. We where jigging, with a jig stop, jig stop, jig stop, varying the pause between jigs till we found what they wanted. No one else was using any kind of repetitive, consistent motion, mostly dead stick with a jig once in a while, (1-2 minutes)
I know its technique cause some others where using the same rigs with out success. I was mainly wondering about the kokes habits, if it is normal for them to just refuse to bite for what ever reason. Like I said, switching up on other lakes has produced fish in the off bit times, but not here. Granted, this is only the 2nd time I've fished here, and its very rare to be icin' before Christmas around here.
