I havent seen any recent report on Palisades and I am new to the forum. I have been doing real well at Palisades catching Browns. They have been as orange as salmon and great eating. Last weekend over half the catch was over 20". Tried hard to get Kokanee on wedding rings but caught Browns on the koke gear. Lost a lot of fish casting a lure towards the bank. Spoons, threaded minnows behind pop gear and green wedding rings all worked for browns but no kokes. Trying Ririe tomorrow. I put in at Blowout and trolled from the dock south last weekend and had a good day of fishing. Never more than 1/2 mile from the boat dock. Hope to see some more action on the forum about Palisades.

I worked hard at getting some kokes last Wed up on Palisades. I threw the browns back and kept the kokanee. I did keep one Mackinaw also.

As far as the kokes go. They are not schooled up yet but they are there. I marked alot of fish but the action was slow. I am going to work Palisades real hard the first part of July.

By the way, We lost a big koke in the evening. Big and Heavy. I let my friend bring him in and he just handled the fish wrong at the back of the boat. There are some bigger kokes in Palisades than in Ririe.

Ririe

Well we made it over to Ririe and we caught our first Kokes. We landed 8 and lost many more.We also caught one rainbow. What kind of gear do you use at Palisades? I used a chartreuse wedding ring behind a dodger last time I tried. I fished across the dam and over towards Calamity but no Kokes. What part of the lake is productive for Kokes?

I to would like to target kokes at Palisades haven't fish it for kokes before any tips is the same as the Gorge? I live about 15 mile from blowout so it is super close for me

Gear on Palaisades

The only thing I could get the kokes on palisades to hit was RMT glow in the dark hoochies. Tried lots of different dodgers will little difference. I ordered some RMT glow Dodgers for my next trip. That will not be till after my Gorge trip in late June. Like always, what works one day may not the next, but I have great luck with the glow hoochies from RMT. They have 3 different ones. I have them all.

The location was straight out from the dam, left, towards elk creek just be for the lake narrows down. About a qrt mile back from where it narrows. We marked fish all over that area though.

Hoping it is good up their week 2 in July. I'll be up several days and over night!

Thanks for the info. We went out in the afternoon yesterday but we never had any sunlight. Lack of light and the water clarity probably don't help. The glow in the dark gear would make a lot of sense. The snake is dumping chocalate milk right now.We are past peak runoff now so we should start clearing up. Guess I better get some glowing hoochies coming. I will probably be back out Friday afternoon and if I dont get them at Palisades I will go back to Ririe Saturday.

So the wife and I made it to Palisades last night fished for 3 hrs around big elk the wife caught 1 koke on a pink hyperplaid RMT dodger and a pink uv squid 35 ft water 1.6 mph fishing was slow but it alway seem slow that late in the day always do better in the early morning. Going to hit it this weekend early each morning

palisades

Hopefully the downriggers get here today and we will be out there too. We had one strike and that was it but we were lead lining and guessing.Only had one downrigger with a pink uv kokanee killer that they didnt like. ran a rmt glo hoochie and an orange wedding ring on long lines. Hope to meet you out there Sat.

I will be there in the morning what kind of boat do you have? I have a 19ft alumaweld green top and 4 cannon downriggers mercury 115 optimax

I try to go to the gorge 2 or 3 times a month was there last weekend pink is the hot color. Its slowing down by the ranch house I would fish further north alot of nice 3 year old fish some 4 year old. I will update tommarrow about Palisade good luck at the gorge

I don't know if the bridge is open yet I was at Palisades yesterday and didn't see any boats putting in at that boat ramp next time I drive by there I will let you know. I fish the narrows for 3 hrs with no luck got tired of trying and went home.I guess I'm spoiled from fishing the Gorge with alot of action

Fished Palisades from 6:30 until 2:00 in the afternoon and picked up trout on the kokanee gear. Downriggers will be here tomorrow so I hope to do better next time out.

Sorry I didnt se ethis quick enough, I am in a 17' crestliner silver and white, merc outboard and I am happy to say its got two new downriggers on it so I should be a bit more effective

Caught two out of palisades yesterday about 15" Went to the Gorge and caught two 18-1/2 and a 20",really nice fat fish

I fished the Gorge from the 23rd to the 29th. Just cannot compare the fishing at Palisades to the Gorge. The Gorge is having a banner year with a significant number of 3-4 lb fish from Pipeline North.

It was hot, smoky and windy, but great fishing.

I will hit Palisades after this week for some nice calm lazy fishing. I will enjoy every minute of it too.
