Hey Ron,Hope you're doing well down in sunny Fla.I'm using regular pancakes and very seldom a finned cannonball all in 10 lb (probably closer to 9 lb) . The Stinger wts are unique ,what do they cost?101chromefish101
I use pancake weights, but never that style before. To me that style looks bottom heavy., and would lead to tangles. It would interesting to see if it tracs true or not.
Thanks to all of you who replied. Seems these weights are a Great Lakes thing. They run in size from 8 lbs to 24 lbs. and seem reasonably priced. I too was wondering how they would track. They do have an additional hole to attach a release.
Very intersting weight. I have balls, fish and pancake weights. I am sold on the pancake weights. I have never seen these before and do not see much of a gain over regular pancake weights.
I believe their design might actually defeat the purpose of using a pancake weight. As 1/2 a weight (bottom only) they are twice as wide as they could be as a full pancake. More surface area in width means more drag.
I have some pictures on my album of the pancake style on this forum!
My new Weights are made using 11/4" Chrome tube or Pipe. They will fit inside most pole holders for easy storage.
I can make them with a tail to stir up the bottom for those who like to bounce the weight for Macks!
