I launched at 6:00 A/M and planed to spend the morning fishing the Chambers Bay and the Nisqually Reach areas in Marine Area 13. I arrived at Chambers and marked a lot of fish at 40 to 60ft. Fished from 6:30 to 8:30 and didn’t have any takers. There were 5 other boats in the area and didn’t see any fish landed. I then decided to scrap previous plans and shoot through the Narrows and give the Point Defiance area a try. I just started fishing the Slag Pile and received a text from my fishing partner, Toni recommending that I fish in 120ft of water depth and to set my lures 60 to 65 ft down on the wire. Following her advice, I had my first Coho in the boat within 20 minutes and landed the second 30 minutes following the first. THANKS TONI !!!!! Fish were caught a Multicolored, Rainbow Hootchie behind a Chrome Dodger, 22 pulls back, 62ft down on the wire and in 120 ft water depth. Trolling speed was 2.0 to 2.5 mph.
