positive ion control enough

Does the Cannon Positive ion control dr,s eliminate the need for a black box.?? It will be a couple of weeks before I can get back up to the slip to measure, but I was under the impression they engineered out the hot boat issue. Am I too gullible???

My Cannons run at an even .50 or current neutral. I don't believe I have any hot boat issues to correct for other than the downrigger cables themselves. So, I don't know if it will correct for bad wiring on the boat. It does seem to be able to figure out anything the cables are creati9ng though.
