Hello all I'm new to fishing kokanee I have a 14'aluminum boat and trolling motor. Do I need down riggers to fish rimrock? Any suggestions on set up without down riggers would be a great help.

You can likely fish most any Kokanee lake in early season with alternate methods to downriggers. In late season, fish are typically found at 60' - 100' depth. If there was a way to fish that deep without a downrigger, I don't know that I'd waste my time doing it for Kokes as I'm sure it would be a real head ache.

Downriggers are definately needed if you want to fish kokes more than just early. You may be able to extend the weeks you can get 'em with lead core line, but downriggers are the way to go. You can keep in the schools way better. I got my last Scotty at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee, I don't know where you are, but they usually have several.
