hi there fished rife last week did pretty good .. what is your go to trolling rig. pink dodger and pink hoochie did well. also ford fender and red wedding ring..what bait do u use.. ifished out of mossy rock park.. should i go towards the dam or towards the tower...

Riffe

Welcome to the group. I use the Jack of Diamonds gang gear with a red bladed wedding ring not more than 18" behind it. Tip with a small piece of salad shrimp. 1oz. lead at ~ 40 pulls. I fish the inlet by the Swoffard dam to the next point then straight across the lake. I've had good luck by the dam also. So you just takes your pick.See you up there, look for a stilleto with a blue top.

Hello everyone - Been out on American a few times this Winter - the Koks are in good shape but on the small side 11-12 inches and fairly scarce so far. The rainbows are fat and reaching 18 inches.
2 rainbows in an hour yesterday, just out tuning the boat for the area 11 opening in the bay this friday.

I have grown up in the Tacoma area and started out fishing with my dad when I was knee high to a boat gunnel. Many years of American lake experience and have fished for most all species of fish all over the state. Most of my time is focused on fishing for Koke's as they are the best tasting fish of the lake variety.

Started fishing American Lake 30 years ago with a Penn 209 3oz of lead with lead core line. Was taught by a gentleman named Al Ferch (he no longer with us),in an 14ft starcraft no downriggers wedding band and maggots. We always caught kokf. Wish he was still around would take him out in my boat lot more comfortable.Mostly fish with my 9year old daughter Alivia (she loves to fish and eat anything catch) ;)
