I fished Silver Lake today. 4 reasons why,
1, The Zoo. Not a big lake. However If you put enough boats on it, it becomes a zoo or a three ring circus. You end up with people on shore yelling that " this is my fishing space. Don't come too close. Then there are the boaters. They pay no notice of where the other boaters are.
2, The fish. This small lake is more often than not in the top 5 lakes in the state in production of fish/ angler. My wife (Anne) and I fished for 3 hours in the cold pouring rain and we caught about 20 fish. We used a Hildebrant spinner and a pink and chrome wedding ring. We didn't need bait , flashers, or smelly stuff. As the limit is 5/person, we only kept 10 fish. 3 for us and 7 for a neighbor.
3. I didn't need to get my boat inspected on this lake( yet).
4. Close to home. 10 miles by road. 5 miles straight line.
still eat good, but not as good as Koks.
