What do you do different in the early spring fishing?
How shallow?
How big or how small?
Bright colors or subdued?
Fast or slow?
Flies?
plugs?
plastics?
?????????

This Saturday will be my first day trying for Kokes in 2014. Depth, top 10' and long lined 100' - 150' behind the boat. Last year, the Spring fish wanted a slightly longer leader around 12". My dodgers are small and my presentations are small. Usually small rgt tubes or micro hoochies. As for colors, pink and orange will always be the first 2 colors out for the season.

I will use the downriggers and go down 10-20' other wise all I catch are planter trout but watch the sonar and can end up at 30-40' I usually use the copper, gold, or brass dodgers, along with pink splatter blade designs and pink hoochies or spinner beads from kct along with chartreuse combo's, if clear, fishing this shallow . and use the white dodgers and matching spinner beads or bugs from fwg if it is overcast or the lake is dirty, troll the normal speed for the dodgers but all this can change with how the fish react so I am always ready to change up. dfly

every body of water will fish different last year we found the fish in 10 ft of water/ I fish water temp I have fish hawk digitial water temp gauge it give me the water temp every five ft down to hundred feet I will have 4 poles out each different and I will let them tell me what they want. One thing I found most true with kokanee they love OIL weather it crawdad, tuna, anis krill or what ever. O'h yea I mean 10 ft of water that all that was under us we fish about the 5 ft level started out deeper with little to no success It nice to have friends on the lake that can get you dialed in I got a call from a buddy he relayed the message hope this will help/why 10 ft it had warmed up the fastest the following week the fish weren't there they moved out into the main body of water got warmer its all about water temp
