Hi
I was reading the Fishing reports today . I noticed what I think are low limits at FG and in CA. Limits were always high here but I thought I'd better check .

New Mexico fish and game site says
May 15, 2009 ... Kokanee Bag limit is 12 per day, 24 in possession, in addition to the other limit for trout.
I don't ever keep that many .I release the ones that aren't hurt or bleeding .

What are the other states limits ?

Dick

Utah and Wyoming are limit of three. Those three are also your possesion also. If I am wrong someone please correct me here.
Okay, here is the correction from the Utah side. ;)

The general limit for all trout (including salmon) is 4 in Utah. There are a couple of exceptions to this. The kokanee limit is 3 in Flaming Gorge ( :( ) and 12 in Porcupine. And in all cases, the possesion limit is equal to the daily bag limit.

You are right Mark and in fact DNR made sure to remind people of that 3 in possession rule memorial day weekend they had a checkpoint outside of Manila checking anyone that had been fishing. I saw one guy get ticketed its something like a $100.00 per fish you are over so evreyone make sure you have no more than 3 in your possession.

In Oregon the limit is either 5, just like trout, or a bonus limit of 25 in lakes with a naturally reproducing population.

Yeah, it is a real ball buster to drive 1,600 miles round trip to the Gorge and come home with 3 fish. I understand the protection of the fishery though, just wish I could have my cake and eat it too.

Idaho is 25 and 50 in posession in naturally reproducing lakes.
All stocked lakes are 6 and 12 in posession. Not real sure of the Northern Lakes of Idaho but this is typical for Southwest Idaho
