Traveling from Australia to Truckee CA

I'm heading over to USA for the third time this April - May tooexcited and I would like to catch my first Kokanee. If anyone needs a deckhand or knows of a good fishing guide, that would be great. Looking online there are plenty of charters on lake Tahoe, but I struggled to find any guides on Stampede. I was there in August 2010 and saw many boats chasing Kokanee on Stampede, but I had no luck on the kayak, using jigs. There is obviously more technique required than some Aussie salt water fisho throwing some lures around to catch a Kokanee, which is why I need some help.
