I have a 22' thunderjet alexas jet boat and was wondering if anyone runs the new yamaha 9.9 with the stock 7 pitch prop and will it troll slow enuff for kokanee without being at complete idol, its a heavy boat and my merc. would load up, or should i get the 5 pitch prop. need some advice thanx

DRAGON FLY I have the 9.9 Yamaha and i felt the 7 or 9 pitch was to fast switch over to the 5 pitch which is the exact prop on the 8 horse Yamaha with they stop making/ I think you are going to find out the pitch is to fast with the stock prop just won't let you slow down enough also I had a 8 horse mercury 7 pitch kicker and went to the 5 pitch before I purchased this Yamaha/ solved all my problems also good luck

Just keep the larger pitch prop on the boat because the day your jet sucks something, getting home on the kicker might be a bear with the 5".

low pitch prop to keep the rpms up.
4 strokes run better when rpms up and temp is forced up by rpms.
far less raw unburned gas washdown of cyls and oil contamination.

love my Pirana props, quick easy blade replacement. carry spares of diff. sizes for diff apps. ocean troll. 4 blade on the main Etec

I've hit stuff that would chew a stainless up. ruins a fishing trip in the dingle weeds of BC or the Rockies
