Just returned and Wickiup is living up to its reputation the fish are really large. On the opener fishing was great. The first fish I landed was 20 1/2 inches what a way to start the year. Most fisherman caught plenty of fish. The lost percentages were extremely high. Most fisherman I talked with stated they lost as many as caught. I added snubbers on Saturday and my Percentage went way up. I fish with custom 5 weight fly rod blanks. The fish were riping off. The magic scent for us was garlic, long lining at 90 ft. A few fish on DR at 3 and 5 ft. The weather changed and so did the fishing. Can't wait for a return trip. The best open I've seen in awhile. Water temp was 53 at the surface.
