We finally hit the gorge Saturday and Sunday Morning. Didn't get on the water until about 10 am Saturday and fished the pipeline. We ended up boating 3 Saturday with the biggest going about 18.5 inches and healthy. Sunday was a bit slower but still boated 3 and missed quite a few more. The majority of the fish we were marking seemed to be south of the pipeline along the cliffs anywhere from 20-50 ft down. Orange seemed to be the color for the weekend for us. We were using RMT Hyperplaid dodgers with orange tiger and orange black dot Curlys Lures as well as RMT Orange hoochies. Great time and I cant wait to get out in 2 weeks for the Villa Derby.
Loved the new JJ Red Lamis they are sweet rods to hook into the kokes with. I had to post a pic of one in action.

Very nice post. Looks like a pretty good weekend trip to the Gorge. We actually headed up Friday, but due to truck troubles had to turn around and go home. We've got all the kinks worked out and will be headed up soon! Thanks for the report!

Nice fish. Looks like i was also a great day on the water. Has anyone been fishing the flats out of buckboard? Just wondering. This time of year North has always been better fishing, so I was just curious why most posts have been from Anvil South. Just goes to show fish are everywhere in that lake.

Great report. Just loved the way the weather held for everyone. Can't wait to hit up the gorge again. Its going to be soon.

Yes it was very nice how the weather held. Saturday was cold and rainy in AM but no wind until about 3 pm. Just cause the weather is bad at home doesn't mean it will ruin a fishing trip for me. Of course with the gorge just becasue the weather is great at home the weather sometimes will be totally opposite there. Anyhow it was a great time and Ic ant wait to get out again and meet you guys

I like it. I bet that thing has some stories it could tell. I have an old felt cowboy hat has many many many miles on it! Blood from many elk, deer, birds and fish from over the years. and a whole lot of sweat! I will have to wear mine for a picture on the next trip to get a photo up here with on.

Maybe we will just have to bring both hats and fish in the same boat catch a double and then get a picture now that would be sweet

Now that sounds like a true photo op for this years book. Just make sure the fish extend past both sides of the hats. To catch one that big it might take a trip or two. LOLlaugh hyst
