Took another skunkin' today, which was just as I basically had my head up my okole this trip, having left both net and bottle of scented shoepeg corn at the house. Got on the water right at sunrise and paddled out to the island. Got two strong strikes on a Mack's pink Double Whammy tipped with pink Gulp maggots but lost both of them thanks to my gear getting fouled around the
downrigger ball. Still trying to get this kayak trolling thing down, and made an adjustment on how I deploy the dodger / lure combo that ended the tangles. By then the bite had subsided. I did see a lot of success out there, including a couple that weren't using downriggers at all....just trolling very slowly so I have no idea how deep their rigs were. One of these days I'm going to land one!

Think I saw both Trolln and Winterun out there.

You must have been out there a long time, because I didn't get out there until 3pm!

Send me note I fish on the weekends. If I'm not on a river somehwere trying to catch fish, I'm on the lake. I'd be happy to give you a boat ride one afternoon!

Yep....I was definitely gone by the time you put in. Obviously someone else in a blue boat similar to yours. Trolln would have been launching right about the time I left, but again I am just assuming seeing an aluminum boat very much like his avatar. If I am out there I'm pretty easy to spot as I haven't seen any other kayakers out there yet.

I plan on hitting it every weekend until I have to go up to NAVSTA EVERETT for a 45 day project. Hopefully our paths will cross (but not collide LMAO) out on the lake before then.

I have seen other kayaks out there but not green ones. They were brighter colored. Sorry you didn't get any fish. We got our limits.

The way the weather is looking I might be blown off the rivers come Sat or Sun. So I might be on the lake this weekend before I head out to Wisconsin next week.

So if you want to take a break from "paddling" your kayak send me a pm and I'll take you for a slow boat ride arund the lake!
