I took Friday off and decided to go fishing. imagine that!
The forecast wasn't the greatest but decided to go anyways. We got onto the lake and it wasn't that bad, then the wind kicked up. It was pretty consistent whitecaps all morning. We were lucky for the majority of the day missing the rain showers. With the threat of rain, I didn't bring my camera so there won't be any pics this time.
While fighting the wind was a bit of a pain, we managed to catch a few fish. We ended the day with 10 fish, with about as many lost. The wind causing the boat to rock, we missed some hits. The two most productive setups were:
Dick Nite Purple/pink dodger, pink double glow squid, corn,
RMT watermelon dodger, Pearlecent squid, pink maggots
Both setups:
25 pulls back,
18 ft down in 70 ft of water
speed was sparadic, but .9 - 1.3 is where we tried to keep it.
I think it was the weather, but other reports lend me to think that it is slowing down a little, but the fish are still there, just need to work for them a little more. The fish are getting a little more size to them though.
See you all on the water!
