Let's fish

Boat is back from shop. Still can't find b motor electrical problem.arghhh. I've rain gear backed and I'm ready to give Yale a try. See you tomorrow.

Weather Forecast:

5 am - Most likely rain with low temp in the upper 40's
8:00 - 20% chance of rain

Barometer - rising
Moon - Waning with cloud cover

Sounds like great conditions for a morning bite!

KFF bbq,brrrrr

Well the weather man had the forecast right. The only thing hot was the bite. The kokes were aggressive to say the least. Fished across from Yale Park. Didn't matter what I put in the water they ate it. Tried depths from25-40' and caught fish at all depths. Nice to meet a bunch of you guys and gals. Thanks to Kokanee Creek Tackle,Kokaneekid Fishing and Fish with Gary for all the goodies they donated to the event. And a big thank you to Mack for organizing the event and getting to the park early to get us a spot out of the rain.101chromefish101

once again it was a great time(nice job matt on puting this together again), wish the fishing was better for me though! I too also want to thank the sponsors for the new goodies they donated, and a shout out to wild child, keep up with the great looking spinners and save a fish or 2 for me worthy12. see yall on the lake and cant wait till next year, greg 101cheers101

Thanks to everyone who was able to come to our 4th KFF picnic. It was a great day despite the October like weather. Who would have guessed today would be 70 and sun compared to the 54 and rain we got yesterday.

While the kokes were small, it was encouraging to hear that everyone had a good time and got consistent fish strikes.

I'd like to send another thank you to Kokanee Creek Tackle, Fish with Gary, Kokaneekid Fishing, and Victoria's Tackle Secrets.

It was great seeing everyone.
-Mack

Once again it was a great event in cold weather this year. It was nice to see everyone again, and meet the guys I haven't met before and put avatars to faces. Can't wait to next year, until then lets keep the great Kokanee Fishing Forum going.

Thank you for the gear provided by Kokanee Creek Tackle, Fish with Gary, Kokaneekid Fishing, and Victoria's Tackle Secrets. I can’t wait to get out and try it.

I did get the secret and elusive Shawn’s Kokanee Killer and can’t wait to try too.

Thank You Mac for puting this together for the 4th year? I had a great time , caught some fish and only had 1 problem.
on Sat. afternoon, the wind came up and it got a little rough. Not a problem because I like it rough. The problem arose when the Sherrifs Dept boat came by at 1/3 throttle and almost swamped me. Wave came cross cut from wind waves. None came in. I was just happy that I was not standind up reeling in a fish. Caught enough minnows for a meal. Thanks Again. I also forgot to thank our sponsors. They were generous as usual.

I kind of felt bad Fishing Merwin on "Yale" Day, but I just couldn't help it. Big fish in the freezer 101juggle101 Bait for later.....I can go buy bait. 101ok101
It was great seeing every one again, I have to apologize to those that I met last year and I kind of gave you a blank stare.....My brain was mush, I was going on 3 hrs of sleep and not all with it.

Matt....THANK YOU! for putting this all together. Maybe next year we can order better weather? Seriously though, good weather, bad weather, doesn't matter, its always good to see old friends and make new ones.

Hard to think, this time last year I was just getting into Kokanee fishing and those that warned me about the addiction...you didn't warn me about how addicting it can be for a young kid who already loved to fish. I have created a MONSTER! Although I have to admit, he is a Pretty cool MONSTER to have around! thumbsup

Here is a tip for those that got lucky and snagged one of Shawns Kok Killers, tweak the blade so that it roles the whole lure in the water, if it is too flat it will have an erratic pattern "wobble spin wobble wobble stop spin" sometimes its a good thing but usually works better rolling most of the time with an occasional wobble. Also make sure to have a good swivel on the leader so that can role with out twisting the line up, we usually run about 16" behind a dodger.

Don't know why it works but the proof is in the pics! It didn't catch em all but but we beat one up bad enough today that we snapped a leader, luckily it was in the boat before it gave out.

Once again THANKS to everyone involved in making days like this possible and to all the sponsors for all the cool goodies!

KFF Gathering at Yale

First time fishing at Yale and despite the February weather I had a great time and caught some Kokes in the process.

Yes, it was finally nice to put some faces behind the names, especially Matt, thank you for the advice on the good locations to fish and for putting a great event together.

And to Tom(?) who kindly gave me an appropriate sized flasher to use against those monster kokes which helped me finally hook up with some of those tasty fish, the next time we hook up on a lake I owe you one!

Also kudos to all of the tackle folks who showed up and provided some free gear. I will spread the word to all on the great products you passed on to us!thumbsup
